Last and First

My friend, the incredible photographer Jeff Sinon, just treated his readers to “And So it Begins”: 2015’s first sunrise over New Hampshire’s tiny strip of rocky shore.

I’m not willing to go too far down the metaphorical path that leads me to feature ends where others see beginnings, but I was out in the biting cold yesterday rather than this morning, capturing the last sunrise of 2014.

May it be a happy new year for all those who find themselves blessed, and a less lacerating time for those who suffer.
